“Hack and slash your way through a supermarket filled with aliens hiding in cereal boxes! The Government dogs have seen fit to outfit you with a sword…WOOF! That is all.”
Um… where do I begin?… This might be TL;DR x:.
This is the trailer for a game I helped my friends at USC with. One of the friends, Waylan, put this video together. This was done last fall, when I was barely learning basic animation.
They couldn’t find an artist, so they asked me to do art assets. I agreed ‘cause Waylan was a friend since middle school, and he seemed to be stressing over not finding an artist.
It was kind of like a taste of “contract-esque work”, and I got paid in Japanese curry (lol). For them it was an assignment, but for me it was done on my own time outside of school work, & I still had to follow their deadline schedule.

I linked the game on my site, so you can play it in its current state… but be warned it’s a prototype, meaning it’s kind of broken. Like, the monster damage intake doesn’t work, only the boss, among other things. Artwise too, when I look at things, I know now I should have done something diff. It’s a learning experience!
I guess my point is, if you wanna do something, take the risk! it may fail, but you’ll learn from mistakes, and it’s the only way you get better — same with drawing.
The guys actually don’t plan to work on it, ‘cause they ended up not liking flash too much. I might fix it in the future though, art assets and maybe try programming. It was an interesting experience none the less.
Anyways, I’m trying to do a space frog one on my own, but I enjoyed doing this team project.
